Senate Finance Committee Issues New Fact Sheet on Grassley Investigation
The Des Moines Register reports on a website sponsored by Kenneth Copeland Ministries to respond to the Grassley investigation. The report also notes that the Senate Finance Committee has issued a "new fact sheet" on the investigation.
A new fact sheet from the Finance Committee about the investigation points out that churches do not have to annually file IRS documents asking for tax exemption.
However, they are subject to the same compliance and enforcement tax rules as other tax-exempt groups, except the IRS has a harder time enforcing the rules because of the lack of annual reports.
Unfortunately, the Des Moines Register did not post this fact sheet, and it does not appear on the Finance Committee's website yet. I'll keep looking for it.
Nice to meet you.
I had a look at blog.

Copeland is standing up for what he believes is right and he should call for the proper IRS investigation. Grassley should have taken this route to begin with. No ONE senator should be given this kind of power to access this information. It could be extremely dangerous in the future if he is given authority to call for such information.

Yes, I have to agree - Copeland IS doing the right thing here even though he is being attacked from all directions. Other Christian leaders have stepped up behind him as well - ACROSS denominational lines. They also have recognized what the results of this situation could do to the future of First Amendment rights.

Even though I do not agree with all of Copeland's teachings, I do recognize how much the results of this situation could impact my future. Copeland has even created a website to keep the public up to date.

You are right, it IS good to see other leaders backing up Copeland. He has recognized the bigger picture as you say. I have an interest in my future rights, and I personally am glad that there is someone standing up for them.

Christians shouldn't turn this into a political thing. To the person who loves the Lord what should be done is clear. The Copeland's and the others are rebelling against God.
Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
1 Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15 For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.
