When asked about his views on reclaiming America for Jesus by Tim Russert he kind of dodged the issue. I expect Huckabee will continue to try to dodge it. But appearing with Mr. Kennedy will not help the dodge. I'm glad the Senate chaplain saw through the guise of this and realized it would not be a good idea to attend. -- Especially if Ann Coulter was appearing.

Bob, my information is that Huckabee spoke at this conference last year. I haven't heard about any plans for him to speak there this year. Like you, I think he needs to be pressed more on these "Christian Nation" issues.

As you say, Ann Coulter is supposed to appear at the gathering this year. I find it astonishing and embarrasing that any organization that identifies itself as Christian would extend a speaking invitation to Coulter, given the hateful speech that is her stock-in-trade. (Here is a sampling of Coulter quotes: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2001/0111.coulterwisdom.html)

I like to see what Hillary Clinton thinks about Dr. Kennedy's statement

WE do not win people to Christ by enforcing our ideas on others. Jesus chose to live His life lovingly, and He has won more people to Himself than enforcement ever could Please engage the Spirit of Jesus, He calls us to choose Him. we cannot force people to become Christians. Love wins, force repels.
